500kV Marx Generator

 

250kV discharge  (Marx Generator charged to 20kVDC via 2-stage Cockroft-Walton Multiplier)

 

 

Theory of Operation

 

By charging a stack of capacitors in parallel and then discharging them in series via spark gaps, the Marx Generator will produce a very

short (nanoseconds), extremely high voltage pulse.

HV Power Supply

 

 

 

The Marx Generator will be charged to approximately 60kVDC via a 4-Stage Cockroft-Walton Charge Pump.
