The PlasmaSonic™ SSTC Board

  PlasmaSonic SSTC Videos

I finally have some videos of the stereo PlasmaSonic SSTC in action.  The videos are courtesy of Terry

Blake and were taken by him at the RATCB Teslathon this year.  More teslathon photos and videos by
Terry Blake can be found
here. The musical selection is Thomas Dolby's "She Blinded me with Science."

Introduction

The PlasmaSonic™ SSTC Board is the complete solution for those wanting to experience the power of a solid state Tesla coil without the

hassles of worrying about the design of a custom power board.  The PlasmaSonic™ SSTC Board is fully integrated with both a high power

H-Bridge switching power supply and a dedicated switchmode controller with full audio modulation capabilities.

Board Errors

The following error has been found on the PlasmaSonic™ SSTC Board.  Pin 13 of U21 (TL494), is

tied to Vcc (+12V) instead of the internal Vref (+5V) of the TL494 IC.

To correct this make, please use the following instructions:

1.  Using an x-acto knife, cut the trace between Pin 13 and Pin 12 of U21 (TL494) on the bottom side of

     the board.

2.  Using a small jumper wire, connect Pin 13 and Pin 14 of U21 (TL494) together.  Again, this can be done

on the bottom side of the board.

More to come soon . . .
