ARSG II (Asynchronous Rotary Spark Gap)

Introduction
This is my first high powered Asynchronous Rotary Spark Gap (ARSG). Although the previous propellar
style (ARSG I) spark gap worked quite well, I need to have something with a little more brawn for those
bigger coils. At the Rochester 2003 Teslathon, I managed to pick up a brand new rotor and universal
motor from an individual there for $240.00. Figuring the motor alone is $140.00 new, it was the bargain
of the day for myself. The rotor was complete with a hub and six pure tungsten 1/4" electrodes. This rotor
was machined meticulously well by Ed Wingate and I was lucky to get such a piece of workmanship for
the price I did.
Once home, I ordered the rest of the materials I needed from McMaster-Carr and built away. The ARSG is
now fully complete and has already been tested on my 3kW PT powered tesla coil.
