DIY Musical Tesla Coil Plans
Our DIY musical Tesla coil plans are based on the modern Double Resonant Solid State Tesla coil (DRSSTC) technology and are designed to be audio modulated to create musical tones using the arcs. If you want to play Super Mario Brothers or the Indiana Jones theme on your Tesla coil, you can do it with these designs.
We offer DIY plans for three different sized Tesla coils which are described below:
Reference Design 1.0 - This Tesla coil is our most popular design. It stands about 3 feet tall and operates from a standard 115VAC outlet creating lightning arcs up to 6 feet in length. This design is very popular for science fairs, school projects and educational demonstrations, and amateur projects.
Reference Design 2.0 - Our most popular high power design, this Tesla coil can create lightning arcs from 8-12 feet in length. It operates from 240VAC and stands about 6 feet tall.
Reference Design 3.0 - This Tesla coil is our highest power design. Utilizing a full-bridge of CM600 IGBTs and operating from 240VAC, it can create output arcs exceeding 12 feet in length. This is the big boy. If you are looking for monster size arcs, then these are the plans you should be using.
